Pregnancy week 36 thoughts

Image
Hey everyone! I can't believe I'm already on pregnancy week 36 and it's less than month to go before #3 arrives!! My last pregnancy ended and baby was born at 36+2 which is like next week so..it's getting real :) I'm feeling alright, considered I'm very pregnant and still running around with my little boys. Ok, not running but trying to keep up with them :) Christmas was great with santa claus, new toys and all that eating - you know, a very traditional christmas that is. Boys loved it and it was worth every second :) Now boys are off from day care for 1,5 weeks and we're just taking it easy; skating, going to the park, playing inside with new toys etc. We did have a helper here today, a nanny, who played with them for couple of hours while I went to see my doctor. We've never had a nanny before so I was a bit worried leaving my kids with her but it went super-fine. She was young, in her 20's but had already so much experience with little kids and

Pregnancy week 34 aches, pains and dealing with a toddler

Image
Hey y'all! It's been a few weeks since I wrote last time, and for the past week I've been out of work, on a sick leave due to my pregnancy. Nothing serious but this time around my body isn't coping as well as it the first 2 times (and minus 2-5 years!) so I had to quit and the follow doctor's orders and basically start my maternity leave sooner. I would start it this week anyway so I didn't start it that early and I gotta say, this past week has been good to just rest and take it easy. My youngest son, who was born 2,5 years ago, was born a bit premature at 36+2 weeks and I certainly didn't want that to happen this time around. It has affected me a bit so this time we hope baby will stay put for at least till 37+0 weeks when he's considered 'full time', not premature that is. So not on christmas eve, thank you very much! :) As for my pregnancy, walking is getting harder with back and pelvis pain, not to mention those contractions I've b

Just another sick day at home..

Image
Hey y'all! Has everyone survided from black week, friday, weekend and cyber monday?! Luckily my kids got (once again) sick so I didn't even have to think about shopping ;) Just when I thought all the sickness this fall would be over, I realized just how wrong I was. To make it feel better (sorta), 9 out of 20 kids are currently at day care. That was yesterday so it may have changed already. So maybe we're done after this one..? This time it's 'only' a virus with high fever, on both of them, and they're just exhausted as hell. I took my older son to a doctor's office yesterday and oh boy, those lab tests are so hard with him :( I'm not even supposed to carry anything that weighs more than 10 kg because I'm pregnant and I had to force my kid to go to the lab, and he weighs 16 kg. I know, blood tests are never fun but you just gotta take them. Thankfully no need for antibiotics this time since we finished our last prescription only one week ago. N

Black friday sales and offers are here!

Image
Finally, Black friday has arrived with all kinds of discounts and sales all over the places! This really is the time to save some €€€ if you have something specific in mind. Perfect time for christmas shopping for sure! I did my shopping yesterday when I finally decided which double stroller I'll need and I ended up buying Mountain Buggy Duet - once again :D And of course, in black colour (what else ;)) Mountain Buggy Duet double stroller at Babyshop. It just feels like the one for my growing family and so far my boys love it. Even my 4,5 year old son wanted to skip biking to day care this morning and instead he wanted a ride on duet :) Now all I need is a new set of Aerotech tires once they're available again (Babyshop sells them, for example, so check the link below). Aerotech tires for Mountain Buggy Duet at Babyshop. Here are some of my favorites on Black friday shopping: Reima  if you're looking for warm outerwear for your kids - great gift id

Good morning, everyone! How's everyone's week started? Mine has started excellent since I'm back at work, yay! I know many people have asking price for these used ones for over 300€ to almost 400€ so this IS a good offer. Babyzen yoyo+ (at Lekmer) More offers to come this week so stay tuned! :)

Black friday sales coming up!

Image
Black friday will be here again next week and I just cant wait for all the good sales coming up! I do have some major shopping to do for my baby #3 arriving in january so let's here them all :) I already posted on my Deal of the week -page what Mamalicious has to offer on black friday. Hope you've found my weekly changing deals but if not, go check it out :) But if you're looking for new non-pregnant clothes, then maybe Vero Moda is your destination on black friday. What about French children's clothes you can order online, such as LaRedout e ? Not only do they have those already mentioned kids clothes but also clothes for mommy and daddy, and cute household stuff. Just as I posted on my instagram yesterday, I'm on a sick-leave this week due to my pregnancy. Nothing serious but just need to rest. And watch Desperate housewives - my saver and quilt :) So back to that, thanks for reading and enjoy your day, lovelies :)

Babywearing and maternity jackets at Bestseller

Image
Hey everyone! It's finally nice here in Finland as in there's no rain in sight for today :) It's weird to have this some what warm weather in November as we're used to having snow by this time. In a way that's nice since I still haven't bought me a nice maternity jacket that would serve as a babywearing jacket as well and would keep me warm in the winter. What winter? :) That's why I have to introduce you the selection of maternity jackets at Bestseller . They have a big range of different kinds of 3-1 maternity jackets that go from being pregnant with a separate pregnancy insert to a babywearing insert to carry your baby in a sling etc. and work just as well as a normal jacket after those phases. I picked this softshell 3-1 jacket and so far I've used it as a normal jacket without the insert in the beginning of my pregnancy and now with the insert. 3-1 softshell jacket at Bestseller. I like it because the material is a bit stretchy, keeps you

Freska cleaning services

Image
Hey everyone! Novermber has arrived and time surely is flying! Pregnancy week 29 has started and now I really know I'm pregnant :) I'm still at work, no problem with that, but at the end of the day I can honestly feel that I've been sitting by my desk all day long. I even had to visit a physiotherapist to get help in my lower back and hip pain. Luckily it goes away after a good night sleep! One thing I've realized is that bending is almost impossible these days and that's required when hanging with kids and doing housework. We live in a two-story house so taking the vacuum cleaner to down- and back upstairs seems sometimes to be too much work. Needles to say, keeping the house clean is essential and an almost everyday duty with little kids in da house ;) So I've come to a conclusion on this one and decided to order cleaning services from Freska .  Why would I pick them? That's only because I have a 'good feeling' about them and I've read

New double stroller comparison for three kids :)

Image
Hey everyone! It's currently raining here in Finland and this morning could not have been worse what comes to taking kids to day care :( Not going into details but let's just say bad mornings do have an influence on your whole day at work and that's not good. Maybe it's the weather because I'm trying to find that motivation to do my work and currently I don't seem to find it. One of those days and TGIF! :) That helps. My pregnancy week changes every saturday and tomorrow I'll be on my 25th week. Crazy! So about 3 months left before #3 arrives here, and I gotta say I'm not ready yet :D And of course that means I don't have a double stroller yet and besides that, I don't even know which one to pick this time! Not only do I need it for 2 kids but I need it for 3 kids because there are times when my 4,5 year old just can't walk, it the city, for example and I need at least a standing board for him. He'll be 5 in march so he really doesn&#

Fall vacation plans and tips

Image
Good monday, everyone! How's everyone doing? I'm good, haven't catched that awful flu yet and both kids are at day care - life is good! :) And while this week has finally gotten started, it's time to start thinking about fall and possible vacation planning. I'm not planning on travelling too far since I'm now officially 24 weeks pregnant and my 3 days + weekend -vacation isn't until the end of next month. So in reality maybe to Estonia or even somewhere here in Finland just in case something happens. But vacation is a must since this will be our last vacation as a family of four, yikes! Next time, most probably in the summer, we'll be a family of five and travelling gets more challenging for sure. So where should I/we or you travel next and which service should I/you use? Here's a list of some of my favorite sites and I'm sure everyone will find their favorite from these. Matkapörssi has all kinds of vacations to basically anywhere you w

4D ultrasound and pregnancy week 23 update

Image
Hey everyone! Time sure is flying and pregnancy week 23 is almost done :) Fall has arrived here in Finland and it's getting colder for sure.  Kids have already had their share of flu and other unwanted visitors from day care, and last night my younger son woke up at 2 am just to throw up :( It's always fun to clean during night but luckily poor little guy is fine and at day care today. I'm hoping I won't catch it :) I also had my 4D ultrasound this week at Femeda which is one of the only places in Helsinki where you can get your 3D/4D done. They have the best doctor I know to do this, Bruno Cacciatore, and he's so charming and obviously very intelligent to do his job. He was so nice when welcoming us to our appointment when he said 'Hello again!' We've had this 4D ultrasound with all of our babies so we just had to do it again. Why? Well, even though it's not NIPT, it's very accurate when it comes to 'just' an ultrasound and it s

Bugaboo at Pink or Blue and a discount on strollers!

Hey everyone! I just had an awesome weekend: on friday my friends had their 40 year party and our kids stayed at their grandparents overnight so that meant staying out longer (until 11 pm!) and sleeping in much longer (until 8am!!) Momlife, you know :D Not only that, my husband and I were able to do grocery shopping on saturday morning, in no hurry. Of course, I missed my boys like hell but you know - sometimes you just need your alone time with your hubby. No kids. And what even better, everything had gone just about right as in kids slept through the night and no crying over 'where's my mommy/daddy' -kinda things. Perfect :) We're so lucky & blessed to have grandparents in our lives <3 Yesterday, on sunday, kids and I went out with and they had their bikes and then to the park and back. It's so nice now that they both have bikes and we don't always need a stroller with us. Kids sleep so much better at night when they have these kinda activities all

Moppi cleaning services in Finland :)

Fall is almost here, supposedly after this week and it's getting time to get your house cleaned :) No, you can clean your house anytime but this swift from summer to fall is a perfect time for that, if you ask me. Only thing is I hate cleaning: first you have to move all the toys near and far the couch so you actually have to clean before cleaning. Crazy, and who has time for that? Well, I do since I do it everyday but that's only for making this house liveable but that's not ebough, no. I need to have deep-cleaning and that's when I call a cleaner for help :) Not only it saves you time, it's actually quite affordable these days - not only for the rich and famous but for us 'regular' human beings as well. Second question is, which company do I choose? I don't have an answer to that but I can recommend Moppi cleaning services here in Finland. Why? Because they have an excellent online booking system. Is it affordable? I can't answer you on tha

Busy work week and pregnancy week 19

Time flies - I'm almost half way through my pregnancy! We also found out we're having another boy so that kinda makes it more real :) I've been feeling much better, this second trimester sure is the best trimester so I've been able to workout (just a little) and run with my kiddos - not complaining at all :) This has been a busy week at work and this friday I have this super-important seminar (or webinar) coming up for 100 people online so that's kinda scary :) Not only speaking to that many people but the fact my older son had a stomach and is in fact at home with me right now. Luckily, it was a quick bug but let's hope it's not contagious so I wont catch it and then I have to cancel the seminar :( We also had a fun weekend last weekend since I turned 40 (middle-age, here I come!) and my parents had a garden-party for close family. What a nice get-together with kids and adults, and a nice to celebrate my birthday too. And we have another celebration com

Back to work, pregnancy week 16 and our summer in a summary :)

Hey everyone! It's been a loooong time since I last time wrote and that's solely because my early pregnancy in may until the end of july was so difficult. Yes, morning and all-the-time -lasting pregnancy related sickness :( Luckily, it has almost stopped now and I can finally be happy about my pregnancy :) This summer me and my family travelled to Bulgaria, Sunny beach. If you've been following on my instagram, you'll see some fun pics from that vacay :) We also travelled to Estonia , Hotel Sveitsi in Hyvinkää here in Finland (top notch!) and after that we just relaxed here at home. Or, if you can relax with a 2 and 4 year olds, then good job :D After all, we had a great summer and we did so many fun things as a family of four - things will be quite different next summer as a family of five, yikes! :) This summer I've also put an effort on growing my belly :D I was also diagnosed again with gestational diabetes so no more growing my belly with pizza or cand

Positive pregnancy test at 13 dpo :)

Finally but little too early - a positive pregnancy test, that is :) I actually started testing yesterday and I got a very fain test-line which darkened today, with three tests taken :D Very interesting and cant wait for the final result -kinda feeling going on in my head. So hard to focus on work today since my period is supposed to start on friday or saturday so let's keep our fingers crossed they wont start this time! This cycle has been different compared to the previous ones. First of all, I felt when my ovulation happened around cycle day 11-12, and I've never before felt that. I actually thought I wasn't ovulating anymore and already had a doctor at the fertility clinic prescribe me clomid in order me to ovulate on my next cycle. Let's hope for that one too that I don't need to start them!! There's always side-effects on everything so if I can avoid these I most certainly will. What else comes to ovulating is the fact that timing of sex was..well, on tim

AMH level tested :)

Image
Hey everyone! What a warm week it's been so far and guess what: I'm sick!! No! Oh well, maybe antibiotics will start working soon. Last time I talked about getting my AMH test done in order to find out whether my eggs are still there and functioning. I know, not the most scientifically put but maybe you'll get the point  :D Anyway, turned out my amh level is 1.3 which is an okay level for a woman at my age. Yay!! Not the best nyt at least not all the hope is gone :) If this is the cycle that ends up to a pregnancy I will well that <3 until then, have a great week! Ps my ovulation test finally had a positive result. Gotts love that smiley :)

Carena Kobbe travel stroller on sale + more sale items at Lekmer!

Image
Hey everyone! Summer is coming, believe or not, and many of you may already have plans for your summer vacation. Everyone travelling with kids know that you always have so much stuff with you: all the luggage, travel stroller (or two) and all those carry on bags - that's a lot with crazy, running away kids :) My opinion these days is that if you have even just one idea that can save your nerves (and muscles), take it :D I know, I've talked about these so many times so why not this time too? Lekmer has all their Carena Kobbe travel strollers on sale which are similar to Babyzen yoyo travel stroller what comes to their size but are much cheaper compared to yoyo. We're not sure what we're doing this summer since we go back and forth with our summer plans. We sorta wanna go some where warm (Bulgaria, Greece etc.) but then again we like Estonia so much that we're talking about going there with our car and my parents might even come with us. Either way, we just don

Laborday aka vappu :)

Image
Hey everyone! Time sure flies since it's been almost a month when I wrote the last Time :) so what's new here? First of all, it's laborday here in Finland and we call it Vappu. Not much celebrations here since we're a family of 2 kiddos, but we did have an awesome dinner last night at our house with my folks. We barbecued (yes! The season's here :)) and enjoyed time together. The kids got huge vappu-balloons which they really liked :) Today's been a rainyday so not much outing or going on a traditional picnic for us but instead I went for a run this morning with my son riding a bike next to me. Awesome feeling after that and I ja totally forgotten how great it feels after you're done with your run :) Some weeks ago I wrote about trying our #3, a baby that is :) well, it isn't as easy as thought so yesterday I finally had a bloodtest taken (test called amh). That basically tests whether I have fertile eggs left and the doctor will call me this friday or

Rakvere family vacation

Image
Hey everyone! It's already april and spring is on its full swing! :) Not that the weather is great here in Finland where it rains, snows like crazy but sometimes it even shines through the clouds. Anyway, it is time to tell about our recent vacation to Rakvere , Estonia. (The link goes straight to Ikaalisten matkatoimisto's site where you can book your own trip to Rakvere). We started our trip with a ferry that was included in the price, and we also had our car with us. The ferry takes about 2 hours to get from Helsinki to Tallinn, and we travelled with the super fancy new boat called MS Megastar . Not only the process of driving your car to and from the ferry works as it should, the ferry is so clean, modern and it has two things families travelling with kids need: a playroom and Burger King ;) You know, first your kids get to run around in a safe playarea and just before you have to leave the boat and get in to your car, you eat something fast (because kids are still at

Crazy week at work before spring break :)

Hey y'all! What a week with deadlines at work, planning on what to pack for our upcoming week in Estonia and eventually going on the trip itself! This week I have my first event at work that I host and I'm getting so nervous! Luckily, this week will go by so fast with all this stuff going on :) Last week I wrote about our dream of having one more child and yeah - the project is still on :) Right now I'm in the middle of my cycle so let's keep our fingers crossed this will be the cycle that's gonna the take us closer on our dream <3 If not, then I'm not sure if we're gonna try anymore since it's always so depressing to find out you're now and your periods start :( Especially at this age it's sorta going 'flying away' the possibility of getting pregnant. But still, let's not lose all our hope! Funny thing is that I've been focusing on how that monthly cycle really works for me, meaning what are the best days to get pregnant.

Third child at 40?

Yes, that's a question I've been thinking for the past year or so. It's something I haven't really talked about much since it's very personal and obviously, considering my age, it might not happen :( Not that it's the end of the world since I do have two perfectly healthy little boys but still...when you just can't get through the subject it really is something to be considered. And how on earth would I wanna have another one, after this horrible year of having a baby and a toddler? Well, first of all, it hasn't been that bad. Yes, I've had sleepless nights (and I still do) but all the good things are just more important. I guess it started when we were expecting our youngest son and I had my first ultrasound way too early. I guess that was pregnancy week 7 or 8, and it turned out that I had two little babies growing inside me :) But, as it very often happens, the other one didn't survive. I, I didn't cry or anything since it was so early o

Easter vacation in Baltic countries with Ikaalisten matkatoimisto

Hey everyone! Spring is on it's way and it's time to start planning on a easter vacation - if that's the case. And that is, indeed, the case in our family so we started going through different options mainly in Estonia. Our last trip to Lanzarote didn't go that well what comes to flying 6 hours with two under 3 so we decided flying isn't an option this time :) Going to estonia is super easy: you can take your car with you in the ferry and pack everything & beyond in your car. Easy, that's the key when travelling with the kids. So you drive your car in the ferry, get out of the car during the trip - which only takes from 1,5-3 hrs the most - and you can actually enjoy the trip. There's so much to do in the ferry with certain play areas for kids and eating is also easy with kid-friendly coffees and restaurants on boat. Then you get to Estonia and drive where ever your destination is, and usually that destination is only 1-3 hours away from the harbour

Babyzen Yoyo+ on sale at Jollyroom

Image
Hey everyone! Yesterday I wrote about new travel stroller Chicco Miinimo that's on sale at Lekmer. I guess it's the time when everyone needs a new travel stroller since Jollyroom has selected colours of  Babyzen Yoyo+ travel strollers -15%! How cool is that? Unfortunately those colours (pink and red) are not my favorites with two boys but someone else who has a little princess those colours are just perfect <3 Babyzen Yoyo+ [at]Jollyroom Tomorrow my older son turns 4 and on saturday we'll have a birthday party for him. Paw control (ryhmä hau) is THE thing for him so that's what I had to get him :) I got him Jungle Rescue Hero Pup so let's hope this is the one of those he really likes :) This one happens to be in sale at Lekmer which is nice since these are always so pricey. Check these out - Babyzen yoyo+ is randomly on sale (and neither is Paw Patrol) :) Enjoy this sunny day! Jungle rescue hero pup [at]Lekmer

Pros and cons on working part-time & new travel stroller [at] Lekmer!

Image
Good afternoon, everyone! Sun is shining here in Finland but at the same time it's really cold. -18 degrees this morning, brrr! I'm so glad I get to work from home every now and then :) And hey let's talk a little about work. I returned back to work in january to work as a project manager but only part-time which in my case means fridays are off. Kids are either at home with me or it's my time to go to the gym (the only time I get to go there during the week) or just run errands. I know, you can judge me: why the hell my kids are at day-care if I'm at home? Well, you see, mama needs her own time as well and my kids really enjoy the day-care. So the pros are: - I do have my own-time, "me-time" to take care of my self - kids can stay home with me if they want to (usually they don't!) or if they're sick, I won't miss a day at work - my house is always clean on fridays. Not too much on saturdays but hey, that's another story ;) - 4-da

Winter is here and planning our next trip with Trip Finder

Good morning, everyone! I'm slowly starting this workweek so I decided what better way to start it than blogging? :) Most people here in Finland have this week off as they are on their winter holiday. And what a week they have: lots of snow, sun but also a really cold weather. Currently it's -13 degrees and that's cold for me! I'm so lucky I don't have to travel to work today or tomorrow and I can just work from home. I'm not a fan of cold weather ;) But for those vacationing this week - super week! This weekend was all about doing stuff outdoors: playing at a theme park and playing in the snow at my parents house. My little boys love it and when we finally have a week off from being sick, you really need to take a full advantage of it :) So playing outdoors it is for us! And as I started this blog talking about vacationing, it's something that's happening for us in just a few weeks as easter approaches. Vacation that is. We're not sure yet w

Fluseason is over and starting a healthier lifestyle

Hey y'all! Winter is finally here for good (or at least for this week) and we've got tons of snow! Love it, makes everything look so much better :) It seems (or at least for this week) we're done with the flu :D Yay! What kind of surpises me is that I didn't catch it so call me the lucky one. I also started thinking my about my health in the big picture and how it all comes down to taking care of my kids. If I ever get really really sick, who's gonna take care of them? I mean, besides my husband of course. I turn 40 in the end of this summer so I really need to take good care of my health in order to keep up with my growing little boys. That made me go further so I joined the gym yesterday, and today I'll intend going there and start working out. Regularly :) The other reason why I started thinking about my health is that my mother has always been lazy at taking care of her well being, what comes to exercising regularly. And I hate to say this but it reall

Fluseason is here :(

Hey everyone! Hope y'all been healthy and able to avoid this horrific fluseason. We haven't and so far, in the past 3 weeks, both boys have had ear infections, fever and flu. Not to mention, that requires 24/7 care for them both (goodbye goodnight's sleep!) Luckily, this antibiotics we got for my older son last night seems like it's working already. Yay! And now my husband is sick..with the worst of them all: the mamflu :D No really, hope it goes away really fast. So this going back to work from maternity leave -thing hasn't quite worked out that well for our family. I know, going back is always hard and I have to blame myself for bringing all the stress back home. That's never a good combo: mother, who's never at home anymore and when she is, she's so stressed out :( Feel bad for my kids but I got a feeling this will get better soon as springtime gets closer. Soon we'll all be healthy again! And besides all that, kids really seem to like their

New clothes for kids at Reima outlet

Image
Hello, everyone! Weeks are going so fast it's almost impossible to remember post anything but here I am :) This week has been the worst in a while: my both kids got sick last week, and that required me to stay at home with one of them. Of course that's what I do but I just hate calling in sick after being at work for less than 2 weeks :) But it is what it is and luckily grandparents came in to help us - yay for them :) So after this horrible week I decided I'm in for a treat. Clothes, that is :) Not for me, though, but for my kids. Reima has the best quality, durable clothes for kids and they even have sales right now so that would be the perfect time for shopping. All of a sudden my older son, who turns 4 in 1 month, has out-grown of all of his outerwear (yes, I spot ankles :D) and my youngest son just isn't a baby anymore :( I mean really, after he started at daycare he's grown so much and is just taller. So if you need new clothes, check it out. I usually ta

Back to work and facing new challenges as a working mom

Hey everyone! It's been a crazy month so far: I returned back to work from my maternity leave and my youngest son (aka 'the baby') started at daycare - full time. I gotta say, things are slowly getting better and we're all adjusting to this change but it surely has had an impact on all of us. Boys are very tired at night after daycare and so am I. I'm used to spending my days outdoors, not indoors, and that makes me tired! I mean, I pretty much do the same stuff at the same project as a project manager but things have gone forward so I do need to take the time and learn new stuff. But all in all, things are going well :) What actually surpised me was that how easily (and fast!) days would go. My husband takes the kids to daycare in the morning and I get to leave for work at 7 am so I'm there early and therefore get to leave early in order to pick up my kids early. So days go really fast, not to mention I have meetings 90% of my worktime. I only work 4 days a
