My kids have two homes

Hey everyone!  Spring is on its way and it's supposed to be +10 degrees here in Finland this week - and that's a lot after this long winter :) Hopefully all the snowing is behind us now because I'm so ready for spring! My kids are ready for spring as well because it's been a hell of a year for them so far as my kids have two homes. They live with me for the most of the time and two oldest stay at their dad's house for a couple of days per week. My youngest son is only two years young so he basically always stays with me and maybe once a month one night with his dad. I'm sure that will change too in a year or two but for now this is the best arrangement for us all.  How are kids feeling about their two different homes? Now that's gonna be a great question as it doesn't have a just one answer. It was super-hard at first back in september when my ex and I got us parents a rental apartment for starters for the first months before I actually and eventual...

Moving to a new home and a discount on moving

What a week it's been with moving in to a new home, packing and un-packing and finally making this my new home. New life as a single mom of three, bring it on!! *This blog post has ads.* Moving discount at Offerilla I started packing a week before my actual move which was the right choice with three kids and also I'm a working mom so time was limited. I wanted a moving firm to come and help me with mostly my furniture but also boxes and therefore I checked through major moving firms. The cost of moving kids beds, a kitchen table with four chairs, patio furniture and all the boxes varied from 400-1200€ euros. That was way more than my stuff cost since I didn't have a couch or a bed with me in my old home (those were delivered brand new from other places). So I googled some more and checked Offerilla  and they actually had a quite a few different deals under "Palvelut/Services" section. I chose 2 hour moving with two movers and a big truck from a firm called KokoRe...

Self-quarantine and Microsoft products

Good morning, everyone! * this blogpost contains an ad with Microsoft / kaupallinen yhteistyö Microsoftin kanssa ". Self-quarantine continues in our family, as for many other families as well. This may cause anxiety for some as shopping malls and overall every place is closed due to the virus and thefear of catching it. Microsoft products Our way of surviving it: videogames & apps for kids to keep them entertained, and good equipment for hubby who's working from remotely from home office.  Microsoft  has a wide variety of equipment & entertainment for all ages from XBOX to Microsoft 365 and to one of the most talked about for remote work: Teams. Two of my oldest sons play Minecraft and Fortnite too much so xbox is their thing andin use ALL THE TIME. Maternity leave in Finland

Hey everyone! Kids are back in daycare and summer is over even though the weather's been nice lately here in Finland. That's not the case every year since when school's start, summer always seem to have gone - so let's enjoy these last warm days and nights too :) At the beginning of summer I was so concerned how this summer would go as a family of 5, ie with 3 kiddos. All I'm gonna say is that it wasn't the easiest at some times but I learned a lot from my kids and overall it was a great summer. Luckily me being home, my middle son gets to stay home on mondays and therefore he only has four days at daycare. He's only 3 so that works for us just fine. Our 5 year old likes to go to daycare because that's where all his friends are and there just aren't that many 5 year olds who stay at home. In Finland you can stay home and take care of your kids that are under 3, and you get a little compensation for that too, without losing your job if you have a p...
