Summer vacation ideas with Ikaalisten matkatoimisto

June is here and it's time to think about summer vacation ideas in Finland and in baltics.  Ikaalisten matkatoimisto  has once again the best valued summer vacation and in general travel ideas for my family, mainly in Estonia since we're not  travelling far away from Finland this summer. We've usually stayed in Tallinn in a spa-hotel which is perfect with kids. There aren't too many outdoor playgrounds in Tallinn but our kids need activities and therefore a spa with kiddy pools are a must :) and mommy & daddy like Estonia so it's a match ;) Ikaalisten matkatoimisto  Ikaalisten matkatoimisto has many spa-hotels in their selection varying from family-friendly to more luxurious ones, and our top-choice over the years has been Meriton conference & spa hotel. We always travel to Estonia via a ferry so it's either a Viking Line or Silja Line and it takes usually from 2-3 hours from Helsinki to Tallinn. Meriton conference & spa hotel is about 30 min walk fr...

Pregnancy week 34 aches, pains and dealing with a toddler

Image
Hey y'all! It's been a few weeks since I wrote last time, and for the past week I've been out of work, on a sick leave due to my pregnancy. Nothing serious but this time around my body isn't coping as well as it the first 2 times (and minus 2-5 years!) so I had to quit and the follow doctor's orders and basically start my maternity leave sooner. I would start it this week anyway so I didn't start it that early and I gotta say, this past week has been good to just rest and take it easy. My youngest son, who was born 2,5 years ago, was born a bit premature at 36+2 weeks and I certainly didn't want that to happen this time around. It has affected me a bit so this time we hope baby will stay put for at least till 37+0 weeks when he's considered 'full time', not premature that is. So not on christmas eve, thank you very much! :) As for my pregnancy, walking is getting harder with back and pelvis pain, not to mention those contractions I've b...

Back to work, pregnancy week 16 and our summer in a summary :)

Hey everyone! It's been a loooong time since I last time wrote and that's solely because my early pregnancy in may until the end of july was so difficult. Yes, morning and all-the-time -lasting pregnancy related sickness :( Luckily, it has almost stopped now and I can finally be happy about my pregnancy :) This summer me and my family travelled to Bulgaria, Sunny beach. If you've been following on my instagram, you'll see some fun pics from that vacay :) We also travelled to Estonia , Hotel Sveitsi in Hyvinkää here in Finland (top notch!) and after that we just relaxed here at home. Or, if you can relax with a 2 and 4 year olds, then good job :D After all, we had a great summer and we did so many fun things as a family of four - things will be quite different next summer as a family of five, yikes! :) This summer I've also put an effort on growing my belly :D I was also diagnosed again with gestational diabetes so no more growing my belly with pizza or cand...

Rakvere family vacation

Image
Hey everyone! It's already april and spring is on its full swing! :) Not that the weather is great here in Finland where it rains, snows like crazy but sometimes it even shines through the clouds. Anyway, it is time to tell about our recent vacation to Rakvere , Estonia. (The link goes straight to Ikaalisten matkatoimisto's site where you can book your own trip to Rakvere). We started our trip with a ferry that was included in the price, and we also had our car with us. The ferry takes about 2 hours to get from Helsinki to Tallinn, and we travelled with the super fancy new boat called MS Megastar . Not only the process of driving your car to and from the ferry works as it should, the ferry is so clean, modern and it has two things families travelling with kids need: a playroom and Burger King ;) You know, first your kids get to run around in a safe playarea and just before you have to leave the boat and get in to your car, you eat something fast (because kids are still at ...

Christmas is on the way, x-mas party and a cruise to Stockholm

Good afternoon, everyone!  I can't believe it's less than 2 weeks until it's x-mas!! Yikes, I'm not done with shopping and all the other preparations are sorta..not done either. Oh well, no panic and it'll go smoothly as always :) This week is a fun week filled with a visit to my workplace with my tiniest boy, a christmas party at my older son's day care (I love christmas parties) and then a cruise to Stockholm in Sweden and back. If you're interested in going there and see the royals ;) check out Booking   which is a site that has great deals on hotels and airfare. Anyway, we're going on a cruise from friday night to sunday morning and I gotta say, that's the best way of travelling with kids. I mean, there's a playroom for my toddler and a place to feed my baby at the same time plus I can have a coffee during that time. Perfect! Besides, kids are usually tired from all that playing so that's always a bonus, and I don't need to go an...
