My toddler turned 3

How fast time flies?! I mean, my toddler just turned 3 last week and we basically celebrated all week. We had an actual b-day party on saturday with close family and everything went well (even the cake I baked!!) except for the fact that my baby got sick. Ear-infection, ouch :( Poor little guy - he's got a runny nose and he keeps coughing all night long. He even has antibiotics for a week and clearly they're already working since he slept just a bit better last night. I'm hoping I'm not getting it since taking care of two little ones is hectic enough so with a flu it would be just too much. So just a few words of the b-day party..I did bake a cake. By myself. I asked my toddler what he wanted and he wanted a car-cake. Just like last year ! Expect that I actually made a cake that looked like a car - this year I 'cheated' and made just a regular cake and bought one these to put on top of the cake. Easy! And everyone liked my cake, especially my little one. Unfo...

A trip to Greece in April and back to work in 2018 :)

Image
Hey there! It's been a while since I wrote last time. It's been kinda hectic lately, with one child teething and having a flu (and therefore not sleeping through the night), and the other one only half day in day care. I know, my own choices and not complaining about life, but 'me'-time is kinda limited these days :) Anyway, we made it and booked a flight and a hotel to Greece in april. Yay!! Love this feeling when you're actually waiting for something fun to happen. We'll be there for a week and it wont be too hot in that time of year but we don't like hot, steamy weather so it's perfect. And it's a change for our daily routines so double-yay :) Another new thing in our lives is that I'll be going back to work in january 2018 which is not like tomorrow but something I've been thinking about for a while now. My baby's gonna be 1,5 years old then so we're gonna hire a nanny for 6 months and then, after summer, he'll be joining ...

Back to normal routine and dealing with sleep deprivation (again)

Hey everyone! Wow, it's been a while since I wrote last time. No, I didn't have a huge new years party ;) Instead, I've just been so busy with my little ones. My older son had a 2 week xmas break from his day care center and boy - it is work to entertain a toddler, especially if he's used to having different activities every day :) No, going to the park isn't enough and to be honest, we didn't get out of the house for few days because of those few horrible cold days. I mean, -20 degrees outside..not fun at all. Anyway, we did it and now my toddler is back at day care - half day until march and this works just fine. So I'm glad we're back to our normal routine: waking up early in the morning, having lunch on time, playing outside several times a day, seeing (toddler)friends etc. Routine helps to get through the day, I'll say :) Usually my baby, now 6 months already, sleeps really really well. I mean, 3-4 hrs in a row and that's just fine with ...

Weekend is almost here & thoughts on having another baby

Almost weekend and yes, I've been waiting for it all week :) Seems like one of those weeks when it takes forever it to be over. Little L is still a bit sick (stomach flu) - we took him to day care today but they called two hours later to come and pick him up earlier. Let's hope it'll be over soon and we'll have a healthy weekend. I only have three more weeks of work left before my maternity leave begins. Can't believe we're so close to that - this spring has gone by so fast! I really cant wait this upcoming move be over and the meeting our second son. I try not to stress about every little thing that's still left to buy (those strollers!!) It's funny, to be honest, on my last pregnancy I had everything done by the time I was 20 weeks pregnant. This time, not so much. Honestly, I cant always keep track on which pregnancy week I'm on :) But I do know my due date and that's enough for now! Anyone else feeling the same with their second (or third) ...

Stomach flu..again and Offerilla online shopping

Yes, it's time for stomach flu..again, and this time the victim is little L :( Poor little guy - he can't eat anything and he missed his spring party today at day care. We were just heading to the day care center to see him and other children at his group perform but unfortunately we missed it. Well, this is how life is with little children. Hopefully this one will be over soon and I hope I wont get it this time. It was awful last time I had it..not fun and especially not fun for pregnant woman! And I hope I wont get it this time since time is literally running out for me: I'll start my maternity leave in less than four weeks so I basically can't be out from work before that. Too embarrassing or something!! Offerilla So if you're interested in some online shopping, like I am, you should check out  Offerilla   and see what they have to offer you. This works only in Finland (at least for now), in different cities and it's formerly known as Groupon. They have o...

Our apartment is for sale, pregnancy yoga, snow and other weekend stuff

Hey everyone! What a week it's been so far. L is finally getting healthier and last night was the first night in a long while he (and I) actually slept all night long. We ended up keeping him at home on friday too so he missed day care all week. Luckily my in-laws were in town so they took care of L yesterday so I could go to work. I don't even wanna think about our life when our second son starts day care and I go back to work - it's gonna be very challenging :) Yikes.. But today is finally weekend and I get to go to my pregnancy yoga class in the afternoon - a much needed one. It's raining (snowing, actually!!) here in Helsinki so not much to do outside the apartment except going for a class. And silly me, I hoped L and I could go out and play today. Apparently that wont happen today. Apartment on the market Our apartment is now on sale and just like I imagined, people are actually interested in seeing it so tomorrow couple of families are coming here to see it...

Happy friday and a day off!

It's finally here, my day off :) Unfortunately L seems to know when I'll be staying home and therefore he wont have go to day care - and gets up at 5.30 am. Normally, when he has to go to day care, it's too hard for him to get at 7 am. Well, it is how it is and let's enjoy this day :) Sleeping is getting harder for me too since the baby I'm expecting is getting bigger and bigger each day and I can definitely feel his movement. Especially at night time but on the (positive) other hand, I have company during the night. I'm currently on pregnancy week 22 so it's natural and obviously a good thing to feel all those kicks. Future footballer there, maybe? ;) Good thing is that our bathroom renovation project progresses, and our contractor will start the installation of tiles next week!! And my husband will be able to help him with some stuff so that's always a good thing. So besides being super-tired, we'll do something fun today with L. It's not...

Back to work!

Today I finally went back to work after being sick for almost a week. Can't be believe how I actually missed being at work and doing something other than sleeping or reading magazines  (all though good ones). Writing this blog helped me too and it's nice to see people find it too - many new readers again! I have a job that I really enjoy and it was nice to see my colleagues again. Yesterday, when I went to that thrift store I told you about on my last post, I found out that someone had broken the wingmirror. It doesn't cost too much to fix it but still..that kinda made me angry. Why people need to break things? Oh well, things happen. Today's a laundry day for me because our bathroom renovation project starts tomorrow so there will be no laundrymachine in our apartment :) We're moving out of the apartment on saturday for a month, or at least I hope it's only gonna last for a month! We're so used to living close to the city so I'm sure it's gonn...
