New job and getting ready for christmas

Image
Hey everyone! This fall I've been super busy with my job, kids being sick a lot and jugling between two different homes (for the kids, that is). Right now I've been at my new job for a little over a month now so everything's still new and I keep learning new things on everyday basis. It's very challenging yet exciting but also very demanding as I work as a project manager in a new field I'm not familiar with. As for now, my youngest son is sick at the moment with fever and staying home with me. So far I thank Paw patrol, gingerbread cookies and a kid with great sleeping skills ;) I mean, he slept for 1,5 hours yesterday while I had a meeting so thumbs up he'll manage to do the same today too :) *This post contains ads.* Christmas and holiday break is coming How's everyone's xmas plans this year? I just talked to my husband this morning (yes, the one that officially lives in his own place ;)) about santa claus and whether we should have him over on christ

Fall, new job and a new garderobe

Image
To new starts! Fall is finally here and I have so many exciting things going on in my life <3 What a difference a year makes - exactly a year ago I was in the middle of a divorce, trying to find a new home and the saddest ever, to put it in the shortest way :( But, as I always look to the future, I knew back then that things would get better in time and so they did. Here's a scoop on my life :) *Contains ads* New job I've been looking for a new job for a while now and been going to interviews a lot lately - for the past few months. I wasn't exactly sure, what I wanted to do and my still-current job was ok (not bad at all) so it was a tough choice to make. A week ago I made my decision and I'll start as a senior consultant in an IT-firm next month. Could not be more excited!! It is a bold move but hey, I am looking for new challenges and this one will definitely give me those :)  It wasn't about the payment, although that always has a role in my life, but mostly a

Summer vacation ideas with kids

Image
Summer is finally here and it's been a hot start this year here in Finland! :) I am not complaining, just sweating a lot ;) I still have to work for another 2,5 weeks and then I'm off for five weeks, yay! Let's all hope the weather is gonna stay at least decent for that time :) I may have some changes in the work in august-september so this long summer vacation is very much needed and earned. *This post contains ads in links*. Summer vacation ideas listed As usual, our family vacation plans this summer are still open in the air - partly due to the pandemic (which is hopefully fading away) but mostly because I just don't have the time to book any trip. So what are the best summer vacation ideas with kids in the family? Just like last year, we're vacationing only here in Finland.  Here are some of my favorites listed: Naantalin kylpylä  - spa & hotel which is close to Moominworld  and a definite hit for young kids. Naantali city is so beautiful in the summer; old

Affordable Sappee family vacation with Offerilla

Hey everyone! Gosh, time goes by fast - it's been almost a month since my last blogpost. We travelled here in Finland this past month so I guess that always makes busy daily life even busier with planning the vacation and going to the actual vacation. With kids life is always busy but not complaining! :) That being said, here's a short look on the Sappee vacation. * In collaboration with Offerilla (this post contains ads)*. Sappee and Offerilla  With the pandemic going on, travelling is still very important to our family. Being stuck at home a lot as I still work remotely and not being able to see people a lot, it's so important to make sure we can arrange something fun for our family every now and then. That's why we decided to head to Sappee  for two nights which offers skiing hills and other outdoor stuff for especially families. It's about 2 hour drive from Helsinki which is just perfect for us since our youngest son naps and that gives him the perfect timing f

My kids have two homes

Hey everyone!  Spring is on its way and it's supposed to be +10 degrees here in Finland this week - and that's a lot after this long winter :) Hopefully all the snowing is behind us now because I'm so ready for spring! My kids are ready for spring as well because it's been a hell of a year for them so far as my kids have two homes. They live with me for the most of the time and two oldest stay at their dad's house for a couple of days per week. My youngest son is only two years young so he basically always stays with me and maybe once a month one night with his dad. I'm sure that will change too in a year or two but for now this is the best arrangement for us all.  How are kids feeling about their two different homes? Now that's gonna be a great question as it doesn't have a just one answer. It was super-hard at first back in september when my ex and I got us parents a rental apartment for starters for the first months before I actually and eventual

Wolt to help out when hunger strikes

Image
Hey everyone! *This post contains ad's". Finland just faced two new challenges: lockdown due to covid-19 and winter with snow and cold weather came back. And it turns out I'm not a fan of either!! Especially the lockdown part with restaurants being closed for now (take-out is an option, of course) and my loneliness growing to a new height. I mean, with working remotely since mid-august, not seeing anyone, wearing a mask to everywhere and living a single life..oh my. Restaurants and the gym have been my only savior on dealing with this prison-life as I call it. So now that our government made a (wise) decision on closing this country and all the restaurants (with a limited access to the gym), I'm kinda stuck at home. That's why I need you all to know you can order your food in to your house with Wolt ! No kidding :D  What is Wolt? Wolt is a finnish based company that delivers food to your home from a wide selection of restaurants. Whether you prefer sushi, nepalese

Winter break inspo

Image
Hey everyone!  Sun is shining here in Finland and it's almost time for a winter break! Have you already booked a vacation, locally of course, due to the pandemic? We certainly have and are heading to Vierumäki resort very soon!! How exciting! Renting a cabin We rented a cabin and I can honestly recommend Lomarengas   if you wish to rent one too. I say this is somewhat the safest way to spend a winter break as we're gonna dry there with our own car, stay in a cabin which is rented just for our family and spend time just as a family. Yes, there will be other winter breakers as well, not just us, but we do remember to keep our distance from other people and avoid crowded places. We really need this break due to the divorce setting (which is about to get cancelled but kids still do have two different homes) but also the pandemic. I wouldn't travel anywhere with a plane and I'm just gonna stay in my home country and I'm avoiding just about anything and everything to kee

Divorcing but surprisingly falling for your ex?

New week and new challenges, every week! We had a really fun but relaxing - is it possible with three kids?! - weekend with seeing friends, sliding down the slopes and eating like there's no tomorrow :) And with that mixed with the title of this blog post, yes. The impossible is possible every now and the and miracles do happen even in our ordinary people's lives <3 Divorce - how it all started? Back in august, right after my birthday and getting back to work after my maternity leave, I filed for divorce. We've been married for seven years but things happened in the past few years and sadly this was inevitable. It was a shock to everyone, including my husband. It lead to selling our house together, finding a new area for our family with two different homes and separate - we rented a hotel room at Forenom and switched that and our home. It was really tough for us but definitely for our kids. So that was back in september to november and I finally moved to my new home in t

New week filled with work, flu and snow

Monday and new week is here, and this week it's filled with work, flu and snow. I returned to work last monday after vacationing and spending almost 2 weeks with the family. January definitely is here and strong with upcoming work projects but kids being sick at the same time - it happens everytime! I'm so lucky to have a participating father for my three kids so we can always arrange the time for our kids but also for ourselves depending on our work schedule. This week is super busy for me and I just received a call from my kids daycare that my youngest is sick with flu. And that means workday is over for me and my youngest needs to be taken to the doctor but it also means a covid-test is needed. Ouch!  Work, flu and snow My work is very flexible and I'm very lucky about that. Meaning I work from home (just like everyone else at the moment due to the covid-situation) and can arrange my days if emergency situations like this appear. So first I'll take my kid to see a pr

Viaplay entertainment at ladycave :)

Hey everyone and happy new year 2021!! Well, I'm just happy we moved to a new year because, well, last year wasn't the best for just about anyone of us. My way of surviving one of the darkest & most depressive moments? Viaplay  entertainment :) * this post has Viaplay ads .* And what the hell is Ladycave?! Read more to find out!  My top ones on Viaplay Since moving to a new place with my kids (we share custody with my ex-husband), having Viaplay has definitely helped kids cope and settle in their new homes. Yes, we both have Viaplay just to make sure kids will be able to watch it if they want to or if nights get too rough with three kiddos, a fave tv-show will always calm them down - at least for 2 minutes ;)  My favorite was Desperate housewives when it was still on Viaplay and James Bond-movies. Yeah, I'm a big fan and that's always so entertaining for me. I don't go out much even on non-pandemic time so when I do get a night off from taking care of my three b
