Vappu in Finland and a tip :)

Image
Vappu This weekend is gonna be so much fun since we have monday off due to Vappu celebrations here in Finland. Lot's of things to do for young and old all weekend long, and a real carnival thing going on :) If you're planning on staying somewhere (Helsinki, Espoo or some other cities here in Finland) over night and avoiding the public transportation/long taxi lines, you can always book a hotel room . Then there's no rush to leave a party at night, you can sleep in (unless you're travelling with kids!) and enjoy a nice buffet breakfast. Yum! On monday, which is a national day off (at least for most finns), people usually go to a picnic  (sorry, that link is only in finnish). Either in Helsinki or just at their own home in a terrace or a nearby park. Don't forget to wear your high school graduation hat! :) Okay, as soon as I start writing my baby wants to go to bed so I better go now. Have a great weekend and enjoy Vappu in you're in Finland! :)

Last year we travelled to Italy, the island of Ischia and that was something. I'm gonna write a little bit about that vacation this time. Really hot summer but unfortunately, as it happens very often, little L got sick very early on the vacation and they only had one doctor on the island so it was a bit scary. Luckily L got better and we got to enjoy a nice holiday. Would I recommend the island for people travelling with a toddler? No. Why? Because it didn't have too many outdoor places for children to play at - we actually had to travel quite ...
