Pregnancy week 39, waiting for labor and january sales at Reima

Image
Hey everyone! January is looking good what comes to this awesome finnish weather with lots of snow and just perfect temperature: not too cold but cold enough to keep the snow here from melting away :) Kids love it of course cause there's so much to do outside. I love it too - even with my huge pregnancy week 39 belly - crazy how fast time has gone and very soon we'll be a family of 5 <3 Speaking of which, I kinda wish baby was here already. I mean, it's getting harder at moving at night in bed, I'm not supposed to lift anything too heavy (including my 2,5 year old) and overall I'm just feeling uncomfortable.  Can't wait for that labor to get started! Our weekend was super fun, in a long while, as me and husband had a date-night and on sunday we went to grandparents house for dinner and before that little bit of outing with the kids. They were exhausted and my younger son fell asleep in the car at 7 pm and woke up this morning at 7.30! I guess that fresh a...

Bugaboo at Pink or Blue and a discount on strollers!

Hey everyone! I just had an awesome weekend: on friday my friends had their 40 year party and our kids stayed at their grandparents overnight so that meant staying out longer (until 11 pm!) and sleeping in much longer (until 8am!!) Momlife, you know :D Not only that, my husband and I were able to do grocery shopping on saturday morning, in no hurry. Of course, I missed my boys like hell but you know - sometimes you just need your alone time with your hubby. No kids. And what even better, everything had gone just about right as in kids slept through the night and no crying over 'where's my mommy/daddy' -kinda things. Perfect :) We're so lucky & blessed to have grandparents in our lives <3 Yesterday, on sunday, kids and I went out with and they had their bikes and then to the park and back. It's so nice now that they both have bikes and we don't always need a stroller with us. Kids sleep so much better at night when they have these kinda activities all...

Final sales @ Lekmer and other weekend fun

Good evening! What a relaxing weekend we've had: lots of playing outside with the kids (ok, just with the older one so far) and enjoying the last sunny days of summer so far. Let's hope next week and especially next weekend will still be nice so we can be outside as we have our baby's christening party on saturday. He'll finally have officially a name then! :) I also made it to the big supermarket yesterday with my toddler and got everything for the party. Baby stayed home with his daddy - first time for an hour and a half. So much easier to go get stuff with one child only. Next week will be spent cleaning, planning the party and preparing & baking everything. Lot of work but it'll be fun :) I'm gonna bake two cakes since some of our guests will need a gluten-free food so that'll be double for everything. I'm making this blueberry cake for those who have a gluten-free diet - sorry, this recipe is only in Finnish. Freely translated it means ...

Second week with the newborn

Good evening! Hope everyone's had a relaxing weekend. Mine's been just fine, with sunshine and some heat yesterday and then rain today. I even got to go outside today for a little stroll with the baby and toddler - with the new stroller, of course. I love it, it's the best one I've ever purchased!! Both kids slept at the same time and me and my husband had coffee on the terrace while they slept. Perfect :) So this week's been good. Baby sleeps 2-3 hrs every night, then eats, then sleeps again, then eats..and I'm fine with that schedule. As long as I don't need to get up every hour I'm fine - I get to sleep during the day from monday to thursday while our toddler, little L, is at the day care. Not that I ever sleep but it feels good to have that option. Right now all my time goes to planning on the christening party which we're having in august. Food, catering, my clothes..everything. You gotta be early on these things, right? ;) Our toddler is ...

Weekend is almost here & thoughts on having another baby

Almost weekend and yes, I've been waiting for it all week :) Seems like one of those weeks when it takes forever it to be over. Little L is still a bit sick (stomach flu) - we took him to day care today but they called two hours later to come and pick him up earlier. Let's hope it'll be over soon and we'll have a healthy weekend. I only have three more weeks of work left before my maternity leave begins. Can't believe we're so close to that - this spring has gone by so fast! I really cant wait this upcoming move be over and the meeting our second son. I try not to stress about every little thing that's still left to buy (those strollers!!) It's funny, to be honest, on my last pregnancy I had everything done by the time I was 20 weeks pregnant. This time, not so much. Honestly, I cant always keep track on which pregnancy week I'm on :) But I do know my due date and that's enough for now! Anyone else feeling the same with their second (or third) ...

Hyvää Vappua - Vappu celebration in Finland!

Yes, happy Vappu , everyone! This has definitely been one of my favorite holidays. Usually this has been the beginning of spring with people being happy (yes, sparkling wine does the trick ;)), sun showing (even today) and just the feeling that winter is finally over. As a university student it gives it a whole different meaning: you get to wear your white high school graduation hat and an overall from your university, and not forgetting Vappu picnic either which happens May 1, so tomorrow. Well, this year it's different with me being pregnant and just not wanting to go anywhere too far. My parents are coming over tonight and we're having a sort of vappu buffet with home-made sima   drink , munkki   (a finnish version of doughnut, just slightly different), potato salad, sausage..and many other things. My mom makes really good sima so I didn't have to make own, and she'll bring it here too. L will have his vappu balloon this year too and he can't wait to have it t...

Our apartment is for sale, pregnancy yoga, snow and other weekend stuff

Hey everyone! What a week it's been so far. L is finally getting healthier and last night was the first night in a long while he (and I) actually slept all night long. We ended up keeping him at home on friday too so he missed day care all week. Luckily my in-laws were in town so they took care of L yesterday so I could go to work. I don't even wanna think about our life when our second son starts day care and I go back to work - it's gonna be very challenging :) Yikes.. But today is finally weekend and I get to go to my pregnancy yoga class in the afternoon - a much needed one. It's raining (snowing, actually!!) here in Helsinki so not much to do outside the apartment except going for a class. And silly me, I hoped L and I could go out and play today. Apparently that wont happen today. Apartment on the market Our apartment is now on sale and just like I imagined, people are actually interested in seeing it so tomorrow couple of families are coming here to see it...

Something new for the spring from Finnish Design Shop

Image
Good morning, everyone! It's a sunny morning here in Finland and because of that, I decided to advertise a little bit of Finnish Design Shop  and their cool new ideas for the spring. I love their site - it's super easy to follow and you can find stuff easily but not easy on your wallet ;) They do have on going campaigns and an outlet section where you can find stuff for -20-40% off of normal prices. These pages are available in many other languages, so not just for finnish customers. You can also see some of my favorite stuff from their site on my blog's " Home ideas " -section. So right now I'd like to add some colour to my apartment, and that's easily done & found  here on their site  Inspiration . It's always easier to find something you really like when you can see the whole picture. Birthday party & toddler sleeping sleeping in his own bed So today we're going to attend my niece's birthday party: she turns 18. I had a day ...

Long weekend

Hey you all! My weekend just started and it's gonna be a fun weekend, for sure! Tomorrow I'll finally go to a pilates class after this horrible flu-season and the a little bit of shopping. My niece turns 18 yrs and has a birthday party on saturday so I'm gonna need to find her something. Any suggestions? I'm so bad with presents - I always end up giving a gift-certificate or just money. I know, boring but I just can't buy clothes or anything else, too hard. I'm also gonna need something nice to wear so that's why shopping is required :) Then in the evening we're going to see my in-laws and having dinner there - perfect. And going to a sauna, of course :) We are also gonna go to an open-house on sunday and I'm so excited about this one: if we really like it, we wouldn't have to ask for a loan because it costs as much as this current apartment! It's a little bit further from where we currently live but not too far. We'll see. This one h...

Saturday fun with the toddler and shopping at Hullut päivät

Good afternoon! As usual, our saturday started off early because L wakes up at 6 am on the weekends. And it's kinda funny because he wont get up at 7 am during the week but yes, weekends are the ones when he's full of energy :) So my husband went to the gym in the morning and L and I went out to play and for a walk. We live next to a football field and that's a great place to go for a walk/run with a little one: no cars close to us. It's so much fun to actually being able to go somewhere close with him without the strollers because he can actually walk for quite some time these days. My little guy is growing up, yikes!! Anyway, it was just enough for me because now I've hit the time in this pregnancy where I just can't walk too far and not too fast either: I have on and off contractions, and sometimes sort of painfull ones. Luckily they wont last for too long but I just keep thinking, this is gonna be a long pregnancy :) After some fresh air and outing, I we...

Friday night, a newborn, sauna and great music - let the weekend begin!

Good evening! My friday's been really good. First a quite productive day at work and got everything done on time what I was supposed to do. It's always comforting to start a weekend after day like that :) Then I went to pick up L from day care (the best part of my day, always) and go see an old friend of mine and her newborn son. I used to see this friend a lot 4-5 years ago when we were both single and basically had much more time to socialize than nowadays :) Then we both got married (not the same guy, hah haa!) and started a family and we all know how that works: if you don't keep in touch enough you just don't see your friends anymore. Sad but that's what happened. So we finally managed to see today after my work and it was so good to see her. And the baby..well, 4 weeks olds are very cute :) Thank god I'm already pregnant and gonna one of those on my own - too cute! And little. L seemed like a big guy compared to him so yes..tiny he was. L had fun too c...
