Back from Crete and my thoughts on the holiday :)

It's been a while because I was on a vacation with my family in Crete :) Wonderful holiday with perfect weather, the sun, the sand, the beaches..the food and the people. Go there if you like all those :)
Everything went well even though I had my fears of travelling with two little ones. Will they get sick? Will they sleep or eat there? No worries, really. I packed all the baby food already here in Finland and I'm glad I did because not of the stores in Crete had baby food! Yeah, it wasn't quite the season yet so they didn't have any and my little one eats like a big boy. Diapers? Yes, they have those in every store but I still had everything ready so we didn't need to buy any. Clothes? I always have too many and you just don't really need that many clothes anyway cause you spend all your holiday at the beach. We we're lucky - we only had one rainy day. Only thing you really need to make sure when travelling with little ones are snacks on the plane and things to do such as pens and paper, little toys etc. to keep them entertained. This plane ride was only 4 hours long and just perfect for us - any longer would've killed me ;) One other really important thing to me was to have a sling with me. I didn't use it that much during the holiday - only when we were at the beach or when my little one wanted to be held - but it was crucial to have it at the airport. We had so much luggage so I really needed my two hands free plus my toddler liked to run around so I really had to catch him all the time and it's easier when you have your hands free :) That's something I still need to work on: how to travel light with little ones. So basically you might not need a double stroller if you have a sling/baby carrier with you but then again it was nice to have them fall asleep to the stroller at the same time during the day.
One thing we decided to have was an airshells transport bag for our double stroller we rented at the airport. Not wise at all because this one doesn't have little tires on it and it's really huge and heavy to carry so next time we'll just put the stroller in a huge plastic bag. Other than that, everything worked just the way we wanted.
Our hotel was quite nice also with one separate bedroom, bathroom, living room area and a kitchen, and TWO balconies :) This hotel had a decent breakfast and a nice swimming pool area - although we never used it because we like the beach better. Spending all day at the beach and then both kids slept for 2 hrs so mommy and daddy could have some (quality) time together and then they also went to sleep at 9 pm - perfect!
All in all, it was a nice holiday. Now off to mommy duty and planning on our next trip! Have a great week!
