Best of Sunny Beach, Bulgaria
Hi you all!
It's been so long since I wrote the last time so I decided now's the perfect time for that :) We've been back from Sunny Beach, Bulgaria for 2 weeks already and we're finally getting back to the normal life. Our trip there was fantastic - great weather, good food and kids loved plus we all stayed healthy that whole trip - but it was exhausting at the same time. Travelling with two little ones can be that but overall it was a good trip and I can highly recommend it for everyone.
Food is good and the portions are big enough (our restaurant bill varied from 30-50 BGN which is roughly divided by 2 in euros - cheap!) And those restaurant bills always included drinks (beer, wine and huge juice for our toddler). I think I only spent 360€ in two weeks, not bad at all!
The beaches are nice too and safe enough for little swimmers to go to. Some parts of the beach had quite big waves but we always headed towards the northern part of the beach which was quiter and had less waves (and less drunken tourists). Kids swimming wear is from Lekmer.
The streets are in pretty good condition so it's good for long walks also. We had our double stroller (Phil & Teds navigator) with us with big tires so walking was no problem at all. There are at least one big mall little further away but never made it there. There's a smaller mall close to the beach which has..20-30 (I'm not sure) stores and that was nice to have it because it actually rained there 1 or 2 days.
We stayed at Kalia apartments which we booked through Booking. I mean, best choice we made because by booking your flights and room separate you can save a lot of money compared to travelling through a travel agency. Overall our flights cost us 1100€ and room (one bedroom apartment with kitchen, bathroom, livingroom and a balcony) 950€ -> compared to the cheapest 2 week package deals (flight and room) which would've cost us at least 2500€. So I highly recommend comparing and putting some time to this which could save you some euros :)
I can also recommend Cascadas Family resort which we visited almost every day since we stayed at Kalia apartments and we could therefore go there with our key. This place has it all: several pool areas, many restaurants, playareas for kids, a gym..and it was so nice and clean. This picture below shows the main kids pool which we used a lot and kids loved it :)
